Jubal is less than thrilled with her current situation but is alive, (if you ask me, she seems in surprisingly good spirits).  Vision issues have pretty much kept her from being able to get on line to read or type.

Cataract surgery never really took too well on one eye, and then Macular Degeneration caused complete blindness in her other eye.

Anyone who has her phone number is welcome to call her but it's very unlikely she'll be showing up here again.

Thanks to everyone for being a great support system and Jubal send hopes everyone is hanging in there okay.

Yes Virginia... it IS hot AND...

The weather guy keeps telling us that this day has yet again broken the record high temperature for Oklahoma set in 1936,

After a while that same year begins to ring bells in my brain.

1936! THE DUST BOWL!

Oklahoma was and is identified as "the Dust Bowl State" even though it had less acreage in the area designated by the Soil Conservation Service as the Dust Bowl than did the contiguous states of Kansas, Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas.
The lore of the Dust Bowl still circulates around the Oklahoma image as fiercely as the dust storms that blew through its Panhandle
.

Damage from Dust Storm in Oklahoma, 1936: In the 1930s, agricultural damage, coupled with drought and windstorms, resulted in the severe damage and destruction across the Plains states that became known as the Dust Bowl. (Photo Credit: CORBIS)

Dust Bowl Refugees: Many, but not all, of the Dust Bowl refugees hailed from Oklahoma. As they flooded the West Coast in large numbers in search of jobs, they were given the disparaging nickname "Okies."

Medicare,,,

Until 2009 I had spent the better part of my adult life without medical insurance, I was single parenting and my "ex" kept the kids insured and I had managed to stay healthy (I thought) up until then.

Then one day while I was "playing" with my dogs out in the yard I got this strange tightness in my chest. Honey drove me to the doctor and when I woke up several days later I had a 5 way bypass scar on my chest and discovered I had been enrolled into Medicare,

If I hadn't been a Medicare recipient, I would have left this planet that day without ever even realizing what had happened,

A turtle was walking down the road...

when he was mugged by two snails.

When the police came and asked him what happened, he said,

"I don't know. It all happened so fast."

The comedy of errors continued...

I had to have two surgeries.

The first lens they applied slipped out of place so I had to go back for a quick

fix.

Then a day or two with pain meds to recover on.

I am finally OK but I can barely see to type. I may need glasses to see but I need to heal a bit before we assume anything.

Tomorrow...

I haven't been writing... because I haven't been able to see. I still can't.

Due to a true comedy of errors I am still struggling with this cataract.

(If I didn't know better I'd suspect a Rx Mercury)

Tomorrow... I finally get up to Triad to get it fixed.

I am so looking forward... (might as well, looking anywhere else is useless...)
until tomorrow.
